Trees overlooks a leafy avenue adjacent to the famed Dutch East India Company Gardens. Thanks to the restaurant's location on the hotel's first floor, and its large glass windows, the experience emulates that of being in a tree house. Leading interior designer, Les Harbottle, gave the 100-seater restaurant a contemporary look and feel with some striking red accent pieces, a few ladder-back chairs, origami-inspired lampshades and an eye-catching installation at the restaurant's entrance.

Michelin-trained executive chef Stefan Schmidt gained his experience in Germany, and then moved to South Africa where he held senior positions at Blaauwklippen and the Grand Roche Hotel before joining the Townhouse Hotel & Conference Centre. "At Trees we endeavour to prepare exquisite dishes in a simple, classic style using only the freshest produce, A-grade meats and homemade desserts. Roasted glazed pork belly, slow braised oxtail on the bone and our legendary gooey hot chocolate pudding seems to be some of the favourite dishes on our new menu"
