The Townhouse Hotel & Conference Centre has always participated actively in its community through various social responsibility projects. Through its commitment to the community and recognizing the impact of the future of our children on the Economy, the hotel was spurred into a more vigorous and structured approach to raise funds. The 'Our Kids of the Cape' was established in March 2007 and is registered as a non-profit organisation with the South African Department of Social Development. This will ensure that the Fund is managed and funds distributed according to best practice.

Animal Rescue is a registered non-profit organisation run entirely on public funding.

	environmental initiatives In September 2009 Townhouse Hotel & Conference Centre elected a green team under the chairmanship of Stefan Schmidt (head chef) to represent all the departments. 	2°c challenge communiqué To date, all previous international negotiations on climate change has not produced any suitable results and in so distracting the world from addressing a very real problem.
