A December to Remember!
You could say the festive season is the highlight of our year – we love celebrating this happy time with our guests. And this year, Chef Stefan has created his most mouth-watering festive menus ever.
On Christmas day, we offer a bounteous buffet. Imagine it – you’ll find it! Six wonderful salads – they’re almost a meal in themselves, so remember to keep space! Three Christmassy quiches… and then the main event: a carvery that includes roast leg of lamb, roast gammon with a juniper berry and craft beer glaze, corned beef brisket, turkey breast with a chestnut, apple and cranberry stuffing, plus all the sides, of course. There’s even mutton salomies with sambals and a seafood moussaka! Then come six desserts so wonderful you won’t know how to choose (see the menu – this extravaganza is priced at R585 per person/R280 for kids under 12)!
If you’d rather enjoy the beach on Christmas day, come for supper instead! From the pickled kingklip and mussels salad (or marinated duck salad, if you prefer) to the fragrant roasts (lamb, gammon and turkey) and decadent desserts (a gingerbread man with dark chocolate sorbet and cinnamon-ginger mousse, or coffee pavlova with summer fruit, berries and ice cream), our Christmas dinner is a sophisticated combination of all the flavours of a Cape Christmas. Then, on 31 December, ring in the New Year in the most beautiful city in the world! Your arrival glass of sparkling wine sets the tone. Just imagine: smoked salmon and snoek terrine or Asian-style duck broth with tempura rice dumplings; grilled ostrich steak or kingklip in basil and lime velouté (both served with colourful sides); and finally a sweet ending of chocolate and pistachio tart plus a surprise dainty treat!
