Celebrate the last of winter at Trees Restaurant
Our Trees Restaurant has created a special a la carte menu to help entice diners through the last few days of winter.
Catering for all tastes – whether guests are after comfort food, vegetarian options or sustainable choices – the hotel’s winter offerings will leave everyone with a new favourite by the end of August.
Long a supporter of SASSI (The Southern African Sustainable Seafood Initiative), Trees Restaurant is pleased to continue offering guests delicious, responsibly-sourced seafood dishes. On the menu this month is Franschhoek salmon trout confit with vine tomatoes, broccoli and fennel shavings, orange purée, liquorish risotto and vanilla whiskey sauce (R168) and a seafood gratin – a medley of local fish, west coast hake, mussels and calamari with dill mash, vegetables, gratinated in white wine sauce with garden herbs (R158).
The zucchini salad, organic onion soup and grilled Joostenberg pork belly dishes focus on organic and local produce, while the pressed lamb shoulder with creamy risotto, roasted shallots, olives and yellow tomatoes, served with gremolata (R158), perfectly balances the need for comfort food, with elegant flavours.
Sticky and sweet, a variety of desserts has been carefully planned to tempt diners and end their evening on a tasty note. Whether it is a black cherry and mascarpone brûlée (R58), sweet potato tart (R38) or the perennial winter favourite of treacle toffee pudding served with walnut toffee sauce and vanilla pod ice cream (R38), Trees Restaurant will give all diners a reason to look forward to a rainy day.
